Meet Our Educators

Christine Kowalchik

Artistic Director/Founder

First Aid/CPR/AED Certified

Award-winning choreographer and founder/artistic director of Show Tyme Academy, Christine Kowalchik holds BA degrees in both Acting and Dance Choreography from Muhlenberg College.

Born in New York state, but raised primarily in Maine, Christine classically trained in the Balanchine Technique, jazz, tap and modern, at the Maine State School for the Performing Arts and Maine State Ballet. During her college career she was part of an improvisational dance company, “6Meters” and choreographed for and performed in multiple main stage productions. After college Christine enjoyed studying and choreographing on three continents, including her personal favorite: Africa. Locally Christine has choreographed MCT’s productions of Willy Wonka, Shrek! The Musical, A Christmas Story, Mamma Mia, “Elf” the Musical, and Performing Arts Camp as well as Frenchtown High School’s production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her choreography has been recognized nationally both on screen and stage as choreographer for “My Grandpa’s Fiddle” which earned a Telley Award in 2018, and has earned Platinum awards at New York City Dance Alliance’s Nationals. Christine’s students have gone on to attend prestigious summer intensives, private schools, and BFA programs, as well as earned top adjudications at serval different conventions and competitions around the United States.

 

Annika Charlson

STUDIO MANAGER/Associate Company Director

Annika is thrilled to be continuing her career here at Show Tyme Academy, in her 6th year teaching with us! After graduating from the University of Montana, Annika has continued to utilize her organizational skills within her position as the Studio Manager of Show Tyme. In the classroom, you can catch her teaching jazz, pom, tinies classes,  and choreographing for Company of course! When not at the studio, Annika loves to bake, color, travel, and play bingo! She also enjoys choreographing for and performing in shows at MCT. Born and raised in the performing arts community of Missoula, Annika’s life-long passion is to continue to spread her love for the arts and performing through her students.

 

Alma Stephens

Company Associate/instructor

Alma Stephens hails from Golden, Colorado where she began her dance training at the age of three years old. For the past eighteen years, she has studied ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom and modern styles. As a student at the University of Montana, Stephens was a member of the UM Dance Team for four years. She is currently working towards a degree in Dance and an Entertainment Management Certificate from UM and has taken advantage of every performance opportunity within the notable Department of Theatre and Dance productions. Alma hopes to join the professional industry by applying her education to expand all practices of her art and gain a deeper understanding of the business side of the dance world. She is so excited to continue working with the talented students of Show Tyme Academy as she heads into her second year on staff.

 

Sofia Sant'Anna-Skites

Sofia Sant’Anna-Skites is a creative artist, performer and teacher who was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She started dancing at the age of four and trained in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and hip hop. Sofia holds a BFA in modern dance and a BA in English from the University of Utah, where she created multiple mixed media works and danced for notable guest artists and faculty members. Sofia recently moved to Missoula and is looking forward to learning from the surrounding talent and further developing her artistic voice. She is so excited to be a part of the Show Tyme team teaching contemporary, ballet and jazz this year.

Bruno Augusto

Instructor

First Aid/CPR/AED Certified

Bruno is the co-founder and co-artistic director of Arts & Above; an art maker, performer, and educator based in Missoula, Montana. His work encompasses dance, music, poetry, and film, and has been presented throughout the United States, as well as the Caribbean, Africa and Europe. His professional and artistic work spans 24 years and counting, as he continues creating, performing and educating in communities across the world. Mr. Augusto holds a diploma from Escuela Nacianal de Artes (Havana, Cuba), a BFA from Towson University in dance performance, and a MFA from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU in choreography.

 

Kate Augusto

Instructor

Kate is a seasoned dancer and choreographer. Originally from Pennsylvania, she now calls Missoula home. Her choreography has been presented across the United States at venues such as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC) and ZSpace (San Francisco, CA), as well as internationally in Guatemala and Peru. She has been on faculty at CityDance Conservatory, The Washington Ballet, The National Cathedral School and Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. Kate, and her partner Bruno Augusto, Co-Direct Arts & Above. She holds a M.F.A. degree in Performance and Choreography from the State University of New York at Brockport, as well as GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® trainer certificates. 

 

Colleen Rosbarsky

Instructor

Colleen is excited to be teaching Pointe 8 for Show Tyme this school year. She has a B.F.A. in Ballet from the University of Utah. Earlier in her dance career, she performed with Utah Ballet and Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago. She has choreographed and directed Garden City Ballet’s The Nutcracker. In addition to being a dance teacher, Colleen loves musical theatre. In 2021 she choreographed Lucky Stiff for Bigfork Summer Playhouse. This season she’s choreographing Nunsense Jamboree for Missoula Community Theatre. Additional choreography credits include Sister Act, A Christmas Carol and title of show. She has performed in many plays at the University of Montana, MCT and Montana Repertory Theatre. Favorite performing credits include lead roles in Chicago, A Chorus Line, A Christmas Story and Seussical. Colleen was featured in Dancing with the Missoula Stars for three seasons and sang with Zootown Cabaret for two years. Her newest daytime adventure is being a licensed esthetician at Skin Chic.

 

 

Haley Nord

INSTRUCTOR

Haley began her dance training right here in Missoula at the age of nine. She has engaged in cultural performances throughout the globe. Some of these include performances related to the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo 2010. During her travels in China, she performed the leading role of “White Haired Girl” (Famous during China’s cultural revolution). Haley was a part of Young Tanzsommer and performed and trained throughout Italy, Austria Germany, and Romania. After Her Travels Haley decided to continue her education in Dance, Receiving her Bachelors of Arts in Dance with an emphasis in Ballet from the University of Montana. Haley is thrilled to be returning to Show Tyme Academy for her 4th season to be teaching Ballet!

 

 

Andrew Fortunate

Instructor

First Aid/CPR/AED Certified

Andrew began tumbling at a very young age at the YMCA. Loving it enough, he went into gymnastics and trained all the way through high school, earning the Regional Champion title his junior year. He began coaching at age 14 and fell in love with it immediately. He spent the next 14 years coaching students from preschoolers all the way up to Griz Cheerleaders. He also coached several individuals and teams to State titles. Andrew has spent the last 4 years building stages and rigging for concerts with Rocky Mountain Rigging. He is extremely excited to get back to teaching and is grateful towards Show Tyme for the opportunity.

Dillon Deschamps

Instructor

Dillon joins Show Tyme Academy’s staff after growing up in Missoula’s theatre scene. Using his excellent brand of physical comedy, Dillon tread the boards of Hellgate High School’s theatre department before graduating and moving on to the University of Montana, where he’s currently studying Business Administration & Entrepreneurial Studies. You may have seen him most recently in MCT’s Theatre for Young Audiences production of “Somebody Catch My Homework!”

 

 

 

 

 

Addie Wood

Instructor

Addie comes to Show Tyme Academy with a 12 year competitive dance background, as well as 4 years of assistant teaching. She is currently a sophomore in college, dancing for the University of Montana Dance Team, as well as studying Elementary Education. Addie loves working with kids and spreading her joy and passion for dance. Throughout her competitive years, Addie received multiple high-level scholarships at conventions, including an “electro-tap” scholarship, which provided a year-long assistance opportunity with NRG dance project. 

 

 

 

 

 

Joscelyn Summers

Instructor/front office assistant

Joscelyn Summers was born and raised in Butte MT.  She has been dancing since the age of 3. Joscelyn danced on a competitive team from 2nd grade to her senior year in high school. She competed in tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and lyrical. While in high school, Summers was a dance assistant as well as choreographer for the studio she grew up at. Joscelyn was on the University of Montana Dance Team for 2 years and she is currently in her second year of pharmacy school at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy. Joscelyn loves working with kids and she is so excited to be working for Show Tyme as an instructor!

 

 

 

 

Ava Tooke

STUDENT Teacher

Ava Tooke has been dancing for 13 years. She loves to work with kids and wants to inspire younger ballerinas and dancers to find a passion in what they do. Dance has helped her build a community filled with amazing friends and it has opened doors to numerous opportunities and achievements. She hopes your child is ready to get their groove on and ROCK IT on stage!

 

 

 

 

 

Elaina Baldwin

STUDENT Teacher

Elaina is in her 10th year at Show Tyme Academy. She’s currently a member of the Show Tyme Academy Select Company and Nationals team, which travels across the country to conventions and competitions, in which she’s logged multiple high scores over the years. Elaina is a founding Show Tyme Company member. In the studio you can find Elaina teaching ballet, jazz, and private lessons, as well as taking in  her own classes at Show Tyme. Elaina is so excited for this coming season!

 

 

 

Quinn Wyland

STUDENT Teacher

Quinn Wyland is going in to his 8th year here at Show Tyme Academy. An active company member for six seasons, he loves traveling around the country. He has received multiple scholarships and awards from such conventions. Quinn is so excited to be teaching this season and looks forward to sharing dance with others.

 

 

 

 

 

Olivia Farnes

STUDENT Teacher

Olivia Farnes has been dancing at Show Tyme for seven years, and forging her dance skills since age three. Skilled in nearly any dance style you could ask for, Olivia loves spending time on the dance floor, whether it’s teaching or learning. Her performances have won both regional and national awards, from Los Angeles to New York City.

 

 

 

Eva Joy Erickson

Student Teacher

Eva Joy Erickson has had a passion for dance as long as she can remember! She took her first dance class at age 3 and has loved performing on stage ever since. She has been in several theater productions: acting, singing, and dancing. She is a versatile dancer, who loves all genres! Eva Joy has received multiple scholarships over the years and enjoys pursuing opportunities to learn and perform. Erickson is excited to head into her second year as a Student Teacher at Show Tyme Academy. She’s looking forward to giving her students the opportunity to grow and learn in a caring and fun environment!

 

 

 

 

 

Ashlyn Phillips

Student Teacher

Ashlyn Phillips has been dancing her whole life, but competitivly since the age of 8. She is on the Show Tyme Company Senior Select Team and has earned many high scores and awards over the years. Phillips’ favorite styles of dance are contemporary and jazz. Ashlyn is excited to continue as a Student Teacher here at Show Tyme and can’t wait to see her students grow throughout the year! 

 

 

 

 

Sawyer Reed

Student Teacher

Sawyer Reed has been dancing since the age of 3 and has grown up in the Missoula musical theatre community. Reed is on the dance team at her high school. She is well versed in all styles, but her favorite is ballet. Sawyer has been a TA for 3 years at Show Tyme Academy and is excited to be a Student Teacher this season!

 

 

 

 

 

Gabby Morelli

Student teacher

Gabby Morelli has been dancing for 13 years and is an active member on her high school dance team. She loves to spread happiness through movement and performing. When not dancing, Gabby likes to spend quality time with her family and friends and drink coffee. Morelli is so excited to teach littles how to dance this upcoming year!

 

 

 

 

Anne Bashor

Piano Instructor

Anne Bashor grew up playing the piano from the age of five. She received a full scholarship to  the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano  Performance with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy. Anne has had a private piano studio for  over twenty years and currently has a studio of wonderful piano students at Show Tyme  Academy in Missoula, Montana. She is an accompanist for the University of Montana, many  area choral festivals and the Missoula County Public Schools. Anne also spends her summer  working with students at the Missoula Children’s Theatre, both through the Next Step Prep  program and their Performing Arts Camp. Anne has performed with a number of chamber  groups and performs in multiple recitals every year. In her spare time she loves cooking with  her husband, hiking to mountain tops and waterfalls, and reading books of all kinds. All of  life is further enjoyed with the presence of Teaching Assistant Mindy, a five-pound chihuahua,  who is most content at the piano.

Angela Dailey

Voice Instructor

Mezzo Soprano, Angela Joy Dailey, is a Missoula resident and alumni of the University of Montana. She holds a Bachelor’s in vocal performance and a Master’s in vocal/opera studies from The Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester UK. She is an active vocal teacher and adjudicator in the Missoula community and beyond. Upon returning from the UK she had the honor of representing Montana as a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in Seattle. Standout roles include, Suzuki in RNCM’s Madama Butterfly, Dorabella in East Bay Aria Club’s Cosi Fan Tutte, and the Mother in Montana Lyric Opera’s Amahl and the Night Visitor’s. She has been a soloist with the Missoula, Helena, and Glacier symphonies and spent many years singing with Missoula’s Dolce Canto. She had the privilege of serving on the board of directors for the International Choral Festival from 2010-2016. She is also a member of the very active Americana band, Wolf and the Moons, and holds a full time position as mama to a four year old son and two year old daughter.

Michael Yoswa

Michael recently moved to Missoula after spending 6 years working in the film industry in Atlanta. Before that, his background includes over a decade of theater, dance, and vocal training. Graduating from George Mason University with a degree in Film Production and a minor in Acting. His production credits include Jumanji: The Next Level, Dumplin’, and Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame.

Olivia Osmun

Olivia has been an avid lover of all things performance since the age of seven. She played the violin, took voice lessons, and became a regular at the Orphan Girl Children’s Theatre in Butte, Montana. Olivia pursued her love of theatre all through elementary and high school. She hopes to continue sharing her love for the performing arts and is excited to be a part of the Show Tyme Academy team.

Scoob Decker

Scoob excellerates at dance while cooking/cleaning at home or down the aisles of the grocery store. He is thrilled to be a part of the STA team to help drive self expression for all. He enjoys a pretty sunset and a solid breakfast burrito. Theatre is his absolute jam whether it be musicals, straight, or abstract. While not at the theatre, he loves movies and is an avid crocheter and woodworker and made bagels during the pandemic. He also has a masters degree in art and tours with Broadway shows sometimes.

Lydia Downs-Williams

Lydia has been dancing since she was six years old and began her dancing career in Friday Harbor, WA. She recently moved to Missoula, MT and received a minor in dance and majored in communication and human relationships at UM. In her free time she enjoys riding horses, diving into a good book, taking to the outdoors, and cuddling with her cats. Lydia is excited to continue working with children at Show Tyme Academy.
